Do portable air conditioners have high and/or low pressure valves and if so where are they?
I opened the back of mine up (which is the only side that can be opened) and didn't see any.

- No, I doubt if you'll find high and low pressure valves on either a portable or window air conditioner. They are factory charged by weight through process tubes, which are pinched off and soldered.
- As far as I know, there's really no such thing as a "portable" A/C. All modern A/C units have to have a warm air exhaust capability to get rid of the hot air. So, I guess you mean a window type A/C or a wall unit. Pressure VALVES? Unless it's some high-tech very modern unit and really is a regular Freon/compressor type then it probably doesn't have any high or low pressure cut-out switches. Is something wrong with yours? What? If you modify the question with some additional info, I'll try to get back to this question. Be specific.
