portable air conditioners how much does it cost to run them?

Hi there , does anyone own one of those portable air conditioners on wheels, the ones with a hose attached to an open window? im only looking for the ones that cool only, how much do they cost to run here in Sydney per hour ? lets say for a 1000wt unit, thank you all .

1. a 1000 wt unit uses a kilowatt in one hour. You should be able to look at you electrical bill and determine the cost per hour of use. How long will the air conditioner run, it will depend upon the area that you are trying to cool and the ambient temperature of the room. It will also depend upon how cool you like the room. A one kilowatt unit will not be very effective in cooling a large area, nor reducing the temperature a great deal.
