what is the square footage of a double wide mobil, modular home?

looking for a portable air conditioning unit with a ceiling vent kit to install in a double wide home, curious to know how the btu's or tonage of the unit should be measured or calculated in accordance with the residence

1. square footage varies... as with a reg home.
2. Most are around 1000-1400 square feet.
3. To figure out the square footage all you need to do is multiply the lenght times the width. Lets say you have a 24 foot wide by 50 foot long mobile home. The square footage will be 24 x 50 or 1,200 square feet, right? As far as the BTU's or British Thermal Units are calculated, that I could not tell you. The spec's of the air conditioning unit should tell you generically how many square feet the unit will cool. Always go slightly over and never under on these spec's. A unit that is under spec will work constantly costing more in electricity while not keeping the entire place cool. Hope this helps, good luck
