Air Conditioning Unit (Not Portable)

We are thinking of installing an air conditioning unit in our bedroom. The size of our bedroom is 5metres x 6metres. We will be looking for a model which provides the following : 1. Energy efficient model. 2. Quiet operation. 3. Cold and Hot options. Can anyone suggest a model which would fulfill all of our requirements and any pitfalls to avoid.

1. You would probably want a model which has a level of 5000 BTU. This will be substantial for your room, yet wont raise your power bill big time.
2. Mitsubishi makes a split system that is both quiet, and efficient. Many times they are used in offices where sound is a factor. They can also be ordered with heat pump operation, and supplemental heat. Bad side...Pricey. Expensive to service when they fail. For the most part, very nice, and reliable.
3. I agree with the first answerer 's calculation that a 5000 btu model will be enough and very affordable.The best window a/c is a Friedrich.They also make nice ,cool, and affordable ductless minisplits. Check them out at www.Friedrich.com
