Why does my split system air con drip water down the front inside the house? It happens on hot days after running for a few hours. And sometimes it actually freezes water inside the unit.

What costs more to run, a split system air con or a box unit?

Replacing a Split System Air Con? Why is it so expensive to install a air con unit when the wiring and piping is also in place. My new unit is the same specs as the old and the gas type is the same but the installers will still charge the same as if we had none of the above. Anyone know - is it just a rip off ?

Mitsubishi Split System Air con (Model no: MSH-A26WV) does not turn on at all,was working fine 1 week ago? just got back from a holiday and my aircon wont switch on - tried changing batteries in remote, manual button on the unit, checked the power supply outside. Split System Air Con Drainage Pipe Clogged? Water drip from the Air Con front panel inside the living room. I found transparent jelly like substance clogged the drainage pipe. Blow air to the pipe to clear it works for only several weeks then problems back again. I have a 20 feet long drainage pipe before it reached outside, I believe blow air inside can only be a temporary measure, more and more jelly will eventually build up inside the pipe which will create more serious troubles over time. Any advice on what kind of cleaning liquid can dissolve such kind of jelly like substance inside and without damaging the pipe? How to prevent this substance be reproduced in the drain pan? Can i install a spilt system air con, above a gas wall heater? I want to install the indoor unit of my split system air conditioner above on old vulcan gas wall heater/furnace (working). I obviously wont be using them at the same time, but just wondering if the heat will affect the the air con unit. There is probably about 600mm between the heater and the roof, so the air con could go in there?

I was just given a split system aircon but it has a 2.5hp base and a 1hp head unit will this work? it is a mistral reverse cycle split system air con base is 2.5 hp with 25000 BTUs model number mss25 and the head unit is a 1 hp with 7000 BTUs model number mss10 will these go together and work can i run 2 1 hp head units of same base

Small Split System Air Cons? It gets very hot in my house over the summer, and especially my room which is really small. I was thinking of buying a small split system for my room. But; How much (roughly) would it cost? Would it be hard to install ourselves? (Would it cost a lot to get installed?)

My split system air conditioner is leaking from the vents? I have just noticed it now, it is very cold water coming out from where the air blows and it is dripping down onto my tiles inside my house. The unit is only 2 years old, I have had the air con running since early this morning (so about 9 hours straight) but this is the first time it has ever leaked. I have just turned it off and cleaned up the water from below and it is not dripping anymore, what could be wrong with it?

How to clean contaminated Air-Con indoor unit? I have a split system. Air-con is about 10 years old according to the technician who came to do an service. Costed me 100 dollars for just some of the deordorizing spary...wtf. He said it's dirty inside, suggest to change a new air-con. It's working fine, just have ordour lately. Am I able to take down the indoor unit and do a thorough clean myself? or is there any other way to clean it? I can see some mold-like inside the indoor unit which I can't really reach. Any idea?? air-con switch's off in hot weather then after a while it works again? my split system is in my hairdressing saloon and on hot days my Aircoon switches off and after a while it works again what could be the problem the gas is fine i had that checked and they also replaced a few wires but still same problem everything switchs off

question about air con costs? hey just wondering how much it would roughly cost to get air con put in our ducted like a split system? think you can do that? living in a rental so have to see if the landlord will let us first but our house gets hot so need it as new baby coming very soon!! thanks for your helpful answers

Is it safe? regarding heater? I have a 7mo daughter and it is getting VERY cold here at night, heading into winter. We have a air con/heater split system and was just wondering if it is safe to us overnight while we're sleeping, she's been sleeping in her own room since 5 months... She just kicks her blankets off so that doesn't work (she's a very active baby girl!) and I am waiting for my sleeping bag to arrive. Air Conditioning, bad smell? I am aware of what causes the bad smell in air conditioners, however this has confused me: When I have the aircon on, on my split system (65000 BTU) the smell is nice and normal, however if I just use the fan mode, so no air con, just simply the fans, it smells very bad like it should smell if the condensers had mould on them. What could this be? Yes Filter is like new, has not been used for very many hours. But has been standing for 1 year.

melbourne mums in this heat? im almost in tears as i dont know how to help my son his almost 10 months and i dont know how to help keep him comfortable or cool him down its really warm here and only going to get warmer we cant afford a portable air conditioner and as were renting cant install a split system we open the house up at night to cool down and keep it closed during the day we have some thick curtains on and pedestal fan in our sons room when his not there and one in the lounge he seems to be drinking plenty fluids and sleeping ok his wearing a nappy a cover and a singlet or t shirt on we dont go outside unless needed but what else can i do he hates a bath with cooler water and he will have a shower but its hard with water restrictions so he joins me in the morning and dad at night what have you done to help your kids im getting so stressed as he screams if the fan is on him and needs constant cuddles and it makes him hotter what can i do he also will only drink cold hydralyte as his throwing up from another issue we dont have any debt but im wondering she we possibly get ourselves into debt and spend $1500 on a air con to cool the house thanks everyone for anyadvice
