Cost of labor for air conditioning repair? I live in a rural area in the midwest and was just wondering about how much an hour an air condition repair person charges for labor per hour. Thanks! Would the price be different if they were unable to fix it? We thought we just needed freon but when he came out he told us there were some leaks so we told him to fix it. It worked for about 2 days and then stopped. They want to charge us $400 for the work even though it isn't fixed.

How much should it cost to repair my central air conditioning unit? The a/c unit is 7 years old and is leaking freon. Last summer (2nd year I have lived in this condo) I had someone come out because it was blowing warm air instead of cold. He said it was leaking and added more freon. This year I have the same problem and a different company recommended repairing the leak (which is located where the pressure release valve connects to a copper tube right at the unit). They said if I continue to just fill up the freon then it will eventually burn out the motor (he compared it to running a car without oil). He is charging $480 for the whole job. Air Conditioning Repair Help! Compressor Cycling? I have a 1995 Ford Contour SE V6. The Compressor cycles after turning it on for about 10 seconds. In the system, there is a cycling switch connected to the accumulator. There is no de-ice switch, however the compressor is not freezing up. Am I being scammed by Air Conditioning repair man? My central air conditioner was not cooling down fast enough. I live in a dry climate. I assumed it might have been a freon leak. The AC repair man said the freon was at adeqate levels but said my coils needed to be cleaned. He charged me $250 to clean a 3 ton outdoor compressor unit which he did on the spot. Air conditioning repair--broken off/on circuit.? This summer was so hot and I had AC problems all throughout. My house is a rental, so I had to call the property management to get serviced. At one point, I could not get it on at all--I switched all the levers (the left, for Fan and Auto, and the right, for Cool, Heat or Off) around trying to get the AC to come on, to no avail. The serviceman came over and said "Silly girl, you had it on fan" (apparently that was position that it was left on after I switched it on and off several times.) He told me that that was the reason the AC would not work--he fiddled around with it a little, and it came on. A few days later, I came home from work, and the AC was off again. It was almost 100 degrees in the house and I had my dogs inside--they met me at the door, almost faint from dehydration. I again tried to get the AC on, and nothing worked. Another serviceman said "The circuit is broken. Whether the Fan was on or off makes no difference." Nevertheless, my landlord is making me pay for the 1st.

There is still pressure on the low and high side of the compressor. My question is CAN I rent an acr3 to recover the remaining freon or should i release it to atmosphere. Air condition repair man comes to fix a problem doesn't fix it but causes another HELP!!!? Ok here's the deal, the blower fan on our central unit ran non stop even after the air conditioner had cut off, so we call a repair man to fix the problem. I wasn't here when the repair man arrived so my wife told him that the fan ran non stop. Well when I get home he's outside with the cover off of the outside unit, which had nothing to do with the problem the blower fan is what ran non stop we had no problems with the air conditioning unit itself. Well he comes back in to the inside part and looks for like an hour and finally says its a relay that he'll have to come back and replace tomorrow. Only problem is now that he left the outside unit won't run however the blower still runs non stop. He messed with alot of the wires although I'm pretty well read on the wiring of an air conditioning system, I can't figure out which to twist together to get the air conditioning to come on. I've tried touch the yellow and red wires in the tstat together, that doesn't work so it must be something to do with the wiring in the inside or outside unit. Is there any repair man on here that knows what he could possibly done to mess up something that wasn't messed up before. I wouldn't be so worried about it tonight because he's coming back tomorrow however I live in Georgia and its about 90 degrees in my house right now. Does my air conditioning unit need repair? The AC unit in my apartment started leaking water like crazy, but there is a large punch bowl underneath so it's not flooding. Periodically, the water runs for a 5-10 seconds (I can hear it) and then stops. This happens about every 30-45 minutes. I have had to empty the bowl like once a day for the past few days. However, the AC has been working fine during this time. This afternoon, it entirely stopped cooling my apartment for a few hours and it got hot in here. I went somewhere in the evening and when I came back, magically, the apartment was cool again and I could hear the AC unit functioning normally. My question is: Does my AC unit need repair? Can someone shed some light on a question concerning a home air conditioning system? My husband and I are purchasing a home and are in the repair stages of the closing, and my husband was told by the air conditioning repair man that since the double car garage was converted into a bedroom, we could use a bigger a/c unit. He fixed the one that is there, but mentioned that we should add extra insulation and a bigger ceiling fan in that bedroom. We went to the house twice throughout the day, and the unit was still running. I don't know if he had set it to "on" or to "auto", but should the a/c run that long if it is on auto? Does that mean that because we could use a bigger unit (he suggested another ton), the unit may run all day, causing our bill to increase? Also, should the seller have to upgrade the unit to provide air conditioning to the entire home? Would that be fair and is that the norm, considering that they converted the garage? He has indicated to me that the car can be sold for $1,000. The blue book value on the car is around $1,400. It has around 131,00 miles along with a couple of dents. It just passed the emmission inspection.There are no other problems with the car. Air conditioning repairs? My house has a Rudd Air conditioner installed in 1994 when the house was built. The contact points on the 24v relay at the unit are burnt. I sanded them as best I could but I really want to replace the part. It's a Honeywell R52426. Problem is that part # no longer exists. Grainger's has 2 in their catalog and both look a lot like the one I am replacing. Does anyone know if it makes a difference ?
