This one has these features: 5-in-1 unit can be used as an air conditioner, dehumidifier, fan, heater and air purifier http://www.sears.ca/gp/product/B0016P59W2/sr=1-4/qid=1208541240/ref=sr_1_4/104-9820690-8072716?ie=UTF8&searsBrand=core&mqnodeid=APS Do they work well? I'd like to get my daughter a big portable air conditioner that is efficient, modern, and quiet. Any ideas? I can afford up to $1,500 to $2,000. She lives in a large house with open space in SJ. I'd like to order online and get it shipped. Does it need installation? Will I get the installation service? I was told to shop at sears online, but someone else said not to do it. I also found www.allergybegone.com site that listed many brands.
Using portable a/c only at night? I only want to cool one room and I will only use it at night. But when I went to the store and asked the Sears guy to show me portable air conditioners he said "Dont even bother it doubles your electric bill" and he didn't even show me any. But what if I'm only using the portable A/C in one small room and only at night? Is it still worth it? Any recommended brands? PS a window A/C is not an option.
Portable Air conditioner? Best kind? Cheapest? I have a pretty small room and don't want the whole house cooled. I only need my one room to be cooled down, for easier sleeping and such. Is there any recommended brands? The cheapest, but still effective? Where would I get one? P.S. I live in Hawaii, so anyone know the best stores to get one down here? Sears, Walmart, Home Depot?
need advice in installing a stand up air conditioner in my basement? I am using a "PACL90 PORTABLE AIR CONDITIONER" by De'Longhi. I can not get the heat vents to stretch up far enough to my windows, id say its at least good 4 feet from the window. My second problem is that i have hopper windows and it is very awkward to get them through the opening, also when they are through it leaves allot of opening which ill have to duct tape to keep on insects. I've tried putting it on a table and feeding them out but the vents keep twisting off. Maybe i have to remove the end cap and twist is back on in a better angle for what i am trying to do or maybe i can go somewhere and buy something to extend the vents like sears maybe?. Thanks for any input guys. no one has any ideas at all? man.
